Social Edge (a program of the Skoll Foundation, used as a networking area for social entrepreneurs) has launched a new widget aimed at bringing together social entrepreneurs.

This set of tools will help link social entrepreneurs, funders, and people who want to support social ventures. A database has been established which highlights information on eligible social entrepreneurs who have been vetted to receive funding, as well as funders who have a reputation for effective support.

It's an open database to the public and can even be placed on your own website, blog or facebook page- Check on my new widget below this post.

Hailed as "one stop shopping" for the social enterprise industry, this tool will help bring together entrepreneurs in similar fields, or in near by regions so they may come together and collectively initiate change.

For those businesses included in the database it's added exposure to their organizations. Being included in this database boosts credibility and enables them to do more good deeds. This tools is especially beneficial to funders of social enterprises as they can find organizations with legitimate causes and operations. It also decreases the amount of time and resources that may be expelled to find worthy causes to support.

Call to Action- Skoll would like individuals to place this widget on their websites and blogs. They would like to see if being included in this database actually helps social entrepreneurs and saves time for funders seeking organizations to support.

So, try it out and see how it works. You can respond to Social Actions via email at info@socialactions.com to share your comment, complaints, or ways the database can be expanded.

Thanks for the Visit
